‘Tubs of Fun’ one of three rides coming to Tuscora Park

NEW PHILADELPHIA – Tuscora Park goers can get a good look at one of the new rides coming to the park if they visit the Convention and Visitors Bureau in New Philadelphia.

One of the “Tubs of Fun” is in the office there on East High Avenue. Greg Rees, board chair for RTY, the non-profit that supports the park, says Tubs of Fun is a smaller version of the iconic teacup ride at Disney parks.

Rees says RTY has raised more than $135,000 to add that ride and two others to Tuscora Park for the coming season. Donations came from the Rosenberry Foundation, Gradall and others.

The other new rides are a boat ride and a carousel-type pony cart ride.

Rees hopes they will be operational and pass inspections sometime in the spring. After that, RTY will work on raising funds for maintenance and repair of the 100-year-old carousel.

An inclusive playground is also in the works, making this a big year for Tuscora Park.
