Tuscarawas County EMA observing Severe Weather Awareness Week

NEW PHILADELPHIA (March 18, 2025) – It’s Severe Weather Awareness Week.
The Tuscarawas County Emergency Management Agency is observing the occasion by posting educational materials daily on Facebook, covering topics such as the differences between a watch and warning.
Director Jennifer James says another topic covers having car and home emergency preparedness kits, which can include water, flashlights, batteries, a weather radio, and any medications.
The county conducts monthly tornado siren tests throughout the year, but a statewide drill will be on Wednesday at 9:50 a.m.
