Tuscarawas County Rockets softball prevails over Stark County
The Rockets Unified softball team opened their season with a 21-10 victory over Stark County Royal Knights.
Aaron Kuntzman went the distance on the mound finishing with 6 strikeouts, 3 walks, and a couple of solid catches to help propel the Rockets defensively.
Offensively, Pat Dillon led the Rockets with 2 homeruns, 2 doubles, and 5 RBIs. After striking out his first at bat, Cage Miller ended up with 2 in-the-park homeruns, a double, and 3 RBIs for the winners. Matthew Medley added an in-the-park homerun, a double, and 2 singles for the Rockets. Justin Ellwood and Chris Wernert both added 2 RBIs for the Rockets.
The team will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Darke County to play in their first annual invitational with teams from Hilliard, Fayette, Madison, and Darke.
