NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Nov. 3, 2025) – Tuscarawas County will no longer be split between two congressional districts under the new map starting with the 2026 election cycle.

The current divide runs partially along the I-77 corridor through the county.

The northeastern portion of Tuscarawas County, including Dover and New Philadelphia, is represented by 6th District Congressman Michael Rulli of Salem right now while 12th District Congressman Troy Balderson of Zanesville represents the western and southern areas of the county.

But the county lies solely within Rulli’s 6th District in the new map that the seven-member bipartisan Ohio Redistricting Commission passed unanimously on Friday.
