Tuscarawas County whole again under new congressional map

NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Nov. 3, 2025) – Tuscarawas County will no longer be split between two congressional districts under the new map starting with the 2026 election cycle.

The current divide runs partially along the I-77 corridor through the county.

The northeastern portion of Tuscarawas County, including Dover and New Philadelphia, is represented by 6^th District Congressman Michael Rulli of Salem right now while 12^th District Congressman Troy Balderson of Zanesville represents the western and southern areas of the county.

But the county lies solely within Rulli’s 6^th District in the new map that the seven-member bipartisan Ohio Redistricting Commission passed unanimously on Friday.
