Tuscarawas Valley Farmers Market Opens for 18th Season
DOVER (WJER) (June 3, 2026) – The new season at the Tuscarawas Valley Farmers Market gets underway today at the county fairgrounds in Dover.
Mark McKenzie with the all-volunteer management team says what started off as a project idea for the Leadership Tusc program 2008 class is now entering its 18th season.
McKenzie says the market continues to thrive because supporters have rallied around the idea of locally produced food.
He says the Donation Station program is also back this year, thanks to a $20,000 gift from the Dover-Phila Federal Credit Union. The program allows vendors to donate excess produce – or get paid fairly for it – at the end of each market day so it can go to local food pantries.
The market runs from 3 to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays at the fairgrounds, rain or shine, through mid-October. The market is moved under the grandstand in the event of rain.
