Tusky Valley, Indian Valley, Carrollton claim titles at Dover Invitational

DOVER (WJER) (September 12, 2012) – Indian Valley’s boys won the large school division at the Dover Invitational cross country race Saturday.
The Braves had the top two finishers in Joe Carlisle, the overall fastest runner, and second-place finisher Xander Heil. Teammate Max Kinsey finished ninth.
For the host Tornadoes, Luke Jones placed fourth and Egidio DiFazio was 10th as Dover placed second as a team.
Tusky Valley won Dover’s small school division and actually outpaced the Braves and Tornadoes to have the best team finish overall.
The Trojans had five runners in the top 11 in the small school division: Jake Kapper, Teagan Perkowski, Kolton Wertz, Danny Hursey, and Josh Owens.
Garaway was there too, with Nick Palmer placing seventh.
On the girls side, Carrollton won the large school division. Indian Valley’s Rylee Raymond placed third, as did the Braves, and Dover’s Sydney Stevenson finished fourth.
Tuscarawas County was well represented in the small school division.
Tusky Valley won it and the Trojans’ Trista Lieser finished first.
Garaway had three top 10 finishers: Meghan Schwartz, Jessie Johnson and Mya Wengerd.
For Strasburg, Kylie McKenzie was seventh. For Claymont, Grace McPherson was eighth.
