Twin Cities TNR team shares year-end totals

| December 5, 2024

UHRICHSVILLE (WJER) (Dec. 5, 2024) – It has been another busy year for the Tuscarawas County TNR Project’s Twin Cities team.

Teri Edwards oversees the operation in Dennison and Uhrichsville. She says they trapped, neutered, and returned 177 cats between the two communities and spent almost $9,381 on veterinary care.

“This is all private donors that are giving us this money so none of our volunteers take any money. There are five people on the crew done here for the Twin City area, but I think that’s a pretty impressive number.”

Dennison has committed $500 to the effort in 2025. Uhrichsville Mayor Jim Zucal would like the city to contribute as well.

“And I would suggest to this council that when we put the budget together that we at least match what Dennison does.”

Edwards hopes to continue working with the city to humanely reduce the number of stray cats roaming around over time. A council committee is supposed to be meeting to explore alternatives, but that hasn’t happened.
