Two vehicles totaled in Dover crash; drivers suffer minor injuries

| March 27, 2024

DOVER (WJER) (March 27, 2024) – A morning crash that looked bad resulted in only a couple of minor injuries on 77 near the Schneiders Crossing Road exit.

Trooper Mike Maddock of the State Highway Patrol says two vehicles were totaled, one person was taken to the hospital, and another person was treated at the scene following the three-vehicle crash that happened around 7:15 a.m. on 77 southbound.

It involved a Ford Bronco, a Honda Accord and a semi tractor trailer truck. Maddock says the Bronco rear-ended the Accord then struck the semi.

The driver of the Bronco – a 29-year-old New Philadelphia woman – was cited for assured clear distance. Maddock says she was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

He says the driver of the Accord – a 29-year-old New Philadelphia man – was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The Bronco and the Accord were totaled and had to be towed from the scene. The semi was driven from the scene by its driver – a 22-year-old man from Ontario, Canada. Maddock says he was OK.

Maddock says drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash, which he said looked worse than it was.

A lane of 77 was closed as was the Schneiders Crossing entrance ramp for a short time this morning.
