Uhrichsville Council Agrees to Sale of Service Garage

| April 28, 2026

UHRICHSVILLE (WTUZ) (April 28, 2026) – The sale of Uhrichsville’s service garage is still pending, but city council has approved moving forward with a $284,000 bid from Larry Wood of Wood Electric.

Council had delayed the decision over questions about relocating the service department. The mayor says lease options are available, though details haven’t been released.

Before the vote, Street Supervisor Steve Patterson outlined several concerns with the property, including drainage problems, outdated heating and electrical systems, and tanks that don’t meet current code. Patterson warned the aging building would need costly upgrades if the deal falls through.

Law Director Jeff Merklin added that any sale will include disclosure of an August complaint to the Ohio EPA alleging improper disposal and possible diesel contamination at the site on North Main Street.

Mayor Jim Zucal, however, said that the city followed up with the EPA and no issues were found.

With one member absent, council unanimously approved the bid. The final decision now rests with the buyer.
