Volunteers sought for Twin Cities Thanksgiving feast

| November 25, 2024

UHRICHSVILLE (WJER) (Nov. 25, 2024) – There’s an opportunity for folks in Dennison and Uhrichsville to help feed their community this Thanksgiving.

The Twin City Ministerial Association is seeking volunteers beginning Wednesday to prepare and serve a Thanksgiving Day feast for anyone in need. Bethel Worship Center Pastor John Stevenson is heading up the effort for the first time and expects to feed between 600 and 800 people.

“Forty-five turkeys, 250 pounds of potatoes, seven containers of stuffing. There’s gonna be some Amish noodles for those that dine in – those are not for take-out or delivery, just for those that are dining in – green beans, corn: 200 cans of those… It’s a big undertaking.”

Helpers are needed both Wednesday and Thursday to prepare all of the food, during the meal, and to clean up afterwards.

“The more the merrier and the easier it is… I know it’s Thanksgiving. A lot of people have family things going on, but if you can donate even an hour of your time on Thanksgiving, it is just so helpful.”

To volunteer or make delivery arrangements, call the church at 740-922-3881. Reservations are requested but not required for dine-in and carryout meals, which will be available while supplies last.
