Voter registration deadline for November election is today
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Oct. 7, 2024) – Tuscarawas County Board of Elections Director Gail Garbrandt is reminding everyone that today is the voter registration deadline to participate in November’s election.
“Our office is open extra hours extra hours for people to do that because we understand that people work,” Garbrandt said.
The office will be open until 9 p.m. this evening.
“For us, usually after six o’clock it kind of slows down a little bit, but I have a feeling we’re going to be busier this year. We have gotten a lot of registrations every day,” Garbrandt said.
She says it is also the final day to update your address with the board if you moved to a different precinct since last voting, otherwise you’ll probably have to cast a provisional ballot in November.
She says people uncertain about their voter registration status can also stop in.
“We would rather have you be safe than to have to rush around at the last minute,” said Garbrandt.
Early in-person voting then begins Tuesday.
