WJER, WTUZ collecting toys for Share-A-Christmas

| December 3, 2024

DOVER (WJER) (Dec. 3, 2024) – The Voice of the Valley and Z Country are joining forces to help brighten the holiday season for local families.

Here on the Boulevard, we’re gearing up for this year’s WJER-Indian Valley FFA Share-A-Christmas Toy Drive. That’s happening on Wednesday from 7 am to 6 pm in our parking lot where new, unwrapped toys and monetary donations are being accepted on a drive-up basis. T4C Director Leslie Booth says the holiday assistance program is in its 49th year and has taken on a life of its own.

“Pretty much all of the schools in Tuscarawas County and surrounding areas, they are collecting toys, different organizations, churches, businesses. We have so much backing with this program, it’s unbelievable.”

The program assisted 850 families with more than 4,000 kids last Christmas. Booth says the FFA kids are always a big help.

“They host the toy drive for us, and then they come down and they sort the toys for us. They do what we call the shopping where they sort them and put them so when each family comes in it’s a drive-thru. They even help with distribution day.”

Toys can also be dropped off at our sister station – WTUZ Radio – on Wednesday from 8 am until 4 pm. That’s at 2424 East High Avenue in New Philadelphia. Just keep in mind that there are no extra helpers there so you’ll have to get out of your vehicle and bring your donations into the lobby.
