Woman seriously injured in Mother’s Day crash
NEWCOMERSTOWN (WJER) (May 11, 2026) – State troopers are investigating a serious two-vehicle crash that occurred Sunday on the east end of Newcomerstown.
One woman was flown to an Akron hospital with life-threatening injuries after the collision on U.S. 36 near State Route 258 around 12:15 p.m.
According to the New Philadelphia Post, a Lincoln MKZ driven by 35-year-old Christina Napier of Uhrichsville struck a box truck that was attempting a left turn. Napier has since been listed in serious but stable condition.
Two children riding with her were treated and released from Trinity Hospital.
The box truck driver, 31-year-old Darwin Muriel of Cleveland, suffered minor injuries and could be cited for failing to yield.
