Program in recognition of National Child Abuse Month

/ April 25, 2024

The event

In recognition of April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month, Dover Public Library welcomes author Patricia S. Sherman to present a program titled “What Can You Do About You? A Review of Life After Child Abuse” on Thursday, April 25 at 6:30 PM.  During the program, Sherman will introduce her book The Blue Swing: Child Abuse, Choices and Living without Anger, in which she talks bravely of the insecurities and the doubts that she and her sister suffered because of child abuse.

In this debut book, Sherman recounts the misery and damage that occurs when abusive behavior takes place behind closed doors. Sherman includes original poetry that expresses the emotions and betrayal felt by her and her sister. Although this book reflects a dark subject, it is filled with positive messages of light and hope. A book signing will follow.
This program will be held on Thursday, April 25 at 6:30 PM in the Community Room at the library, located at 525 N. Walnut Street, Dover.  Register online at www.doverlibrary.org/events or call the library at 330-343-6123.
