New Philadelphia (WJER) (Aug. 11, 2025) – As students return to schools, the Ohio State Highway Patrol is imploring motorists to drive safely and familiarize themselves with traffic laws around school buses.
New Philadelphia Post Lt. Johnnie Maier says to be aware of buses picking up and dropping off kids.
Troopers will report and investigate drivers who ignore the bus’s flashing red lights and extended stop arm.
During the school year, troopers will follow buses at times to watch for violations and enforce the rules.
