The event

In its efforts to encourage reading among elementary students, the Tuscarawas County Public Library System is launching an America 250 Reading Challenge opportunity January through May of 2026.
“Our Library has a long-standing reading challenge for teens and adults to participate in. This year, we have received requests from parents and educators to create a reading challenge for our elementary school kids too,” said Public Relations Associate Emily Price. “To answer those requests, we created an America 250 Reading Challenge to align with the America 250 celebrations and reading initiatives across the county.”
The America 250 Challenge began on Monday, January 19th 2026 and runs until Monday, May 11th 2026. Students can use Beanstack to log 25 books of their choice and earn 10 points per book logged for a total of 250 points to recognize America’s 250th birthday. Once the challenge is completed, kids will receive an America-themed slap bracelet while supplies last.
Beanstack is a reading tracker app that you can access at tusclibrary.org/beanstack or by downloading the free Beanstack Tracker App in your mobile device’s app store. Beanstack rewards users with fun, online badges to encourage readers to complete the challenge. If customers need help using the app, they can call the Library for assistance.  Those who prefer logging their reading on a paper tracker, can pick one up at any TCPL location.
