The event
As America celebrates its 250th birthday, the Dover Public Library continues its series of showcasing Ohio’s contributions to industry and manufacturing in our display cases. This month local history librarian Kim Jurkovic will feature two unique displays. In our vestibule display case, located in the front entrance of the library facing Dover High School, Tuscarawas County’s contribution to manufacturing will be featured including items from, Greer Steel, Marlite and items graciously donated to us from the Reeves Museum. The small display case located in our adult department will feature books from our local history room showcasing some of Ohio’s most well known companies including Velvet Ice Cream and Goodyear Tire. The library would like to extend its thanks to the Reeves museum for its assistance with this display and would like to remind the public about our program “America 250: The History of Manufacturing In Tuscarawas County” on Thursday February 26th at 6:30 PM. For more information about the display, upcoming programs and events as we celebrate America 250, please contact the library. We can be reached at 330-343-6123 or at doverlibrary.org. We are located across the street from Dover High School at 525 North Walnut Street in Dover, Ohio.
