Ohio Foothills campaign unites 10 counties in new regional tourism push
NEW PHILADELPHIA (Feb. 11, 2026) – Travel and tourism officials from 10 east-central Ohio counties have joined forces in a new regional marketing initiative aimed at promoting the area’s shared attractions and boosting economic growth.
Tuscarawas County is among the counties participating in the newly launched Ohio Foothills campaign. The initiative is designed to cross-promote destinations throughout the region and encourage visitors to explore beyond county lines.
Tuscarawas County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau Partnership Development Director Diane Lautenschleger says it’s a collaborative effort coordinated with the Ohio Mid-Eastern Governments Association (OMEGA).
Lautenschleger says the collaboration was supported by a $50,000 state grant. The funding helped establish the Ohio Foothills brand and launch the campaign’s official website, visitohiofoothills.com, which highlights outdoor recreation, historical sites, cultural attractions, and local events across the region.
Tourism leaders hope working together can increase the region’s visibility, attract new visitors, and strengthen the local economy through coordinated marketing and storytelling.
The Ohio Foothills region also includes Belmont, Carroll, Columbiana, Coshocton, Guernsey, Harrison, Holmes, Jefferson, and Muskingum counties.
