Four-Way Stop Coming to SR 212 and SR 21

NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Sept. 1, 2026) – A traffic change is coming to the intersection of State Route 212 and State Route 21 at the Tuscarawas-Stark county line.
The Ohio Department of Transportation posted signs Monday alerting drivers that the intersection will become a four-way stop on September 14.
District 11 spokeswoman Lauren Borell says the change is part of a statewide safety effort to convert select two-way stop intersections to all-way stops based on crash data and traffic volume.
Currently, drivers on State Route 212 must stop, while State Route 21 traffic continues through. ODOT says warning signs will remain in place for about 30 days after the switch, with dual Stop Ahead signs on all approaches to remind drivers of the new pattern.
