Jim Boose


Jim Boose was born in Columbus, Ohio but raised in New Philadelphia. He played football and basketball for New Phila, then went on to play basketball at Marietta College, where he first appeared on their local college radio and television stations. His college degree is in Media Management and he has visited nearly every major newspaper in the United States. He went on to play basketball weekly at the YMCA for over 35 years. Jim’s first appearance on WJER was way back in sixth grade for winning a Safety Poster contest, and then he returned after a bit of a hiatus to start calling sports contests and contributing to the fun with the morning team. Jim has three grown sons that live in New Philadelphia, Cleveland and Tempe, AZ.
