18-year-old dies in crash at UPS building in New Philadelphia
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WTUZ) (Sept. 20, 2024) – Police say an 18-year-old Indian Valley student who attended Buckeye Career Center died when he crashed his car into the UPS building Thursday.
His name is not being released at this time.
The accident happened at the corner of 7th Street SW and Bank Lane at about 5:30 p.m.
Captain Rocky Dusenberry says police are unsure why the victim failed to negotiate a curve there.
He says the car struck the building’s cement barrier and loading dock. The victim died at the scene.
Dusenberry says the cause of the crash remains under investigation and police are awaiting autopsy results.
