Man charged for firing gun during altercation with son
MILL TOWNSHIP (WJER) (March 4, 2022) – A township man is facing criminal charges for firing a gun during an argument with his son early Thursday morning. The son reported the incident to the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office just before 6 am, saying it happened in the driveway of his father’s home outside of Dennison after he went there to discuss a civil land contract issue. The father admitted to shooting his handgun into an embankment, telling a sheriff’s deputy he was trying to scare his son off. The 74-year-old was booked into the county jail and counts of domestic violence and aggravated menacing. He pleaded not guilty to the charges during his appearance in Southern District Court this morning. A visiting judge released him on his own recognizance and ordered him to have no contact with the son.
