Arnett graduated from Dover High School in 2018 and was in the Marching Tornado drumline and steel drum band.
He worked as a Reserve officer in New Philadelphia before working as a full-time officer for Sugarcreek, Dover and Kent before going overseas earlier this year.
Arnett was a staunch supporter of Ukraine and its right to exist as a sovereign nation. His family worried for his safety but respected his courage, commitment and principled stand for freedom and democracy. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
The family asks for memorial donations to foundations that support Ukraine, its people and soldiers – United 24 and Safe Passage 4 Ukraine.
He is survived by his father Matt, Dover’s HR director and former police officer, and mother, Juli. Gunnoe said the family would like privacy at this time.
