Countywide levies supported in Tuesday’s election

| November 5, 2025

NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Nov. 5, 2025) – The ADAMHS Board levy ended up narrowly pulling ahead thanks to votes from the final precinct to be counted on election night.

But the addition of provisional and mail-in ballots that arrive by Saturday could still swing the final outcome at certification later in the month. Issue 1 – for continued mental health and treatment services – passed by just 23 votes out of the more than 17,000 ballots cast, according to the unofficial results.

Elsewhere, about 55 percent of voters were in favor of Issue 2, the Tuscarawas County Senior Center’s levy renewal and increase for continuing services. Senior Center Director Jamie Smith says they look forward to meeting some of the campaign promises involving building capacity and adding more innovative programming.

And about 52.5 percent of voters supported Issue 20, the Tuscarawas County Public Library’s 1-mill replacement levy for current expenses. Library Director Michele Ramsell says passage means that the library will be able to continue to provide the materials, programs, and services that the community has come to rely upon.
