Dennison Prepares to Welcome America 250–Ohio Buckeye Train This Weekend

| April 21, 2026

DENNISON (WJER) (April 21, 2026) — Thousands of visitors are expected in the village of Dennison this weekend for a free, two‑day celebration highlighting Ohio’s transportation history.

With final preparations underway, the village is ready to welcome the America 250–Ohio Buckeye Train as part of the state’s anniversary commemorations. The event will take place Saturday and Sunday, April 25 and 26, at the historic Dennison Railroad Depot.

The Railroad Depot Museum partnered with state and railroad officials to bring the event to Dennison. Museum Director Wendy Zucal said the depot was a natural choice for the celebration because of its deep historical significance to Ohio’s railroad heritage.

Festivities will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, with free admission. Center Street will be closed into neighboring Uhrichsville to accommodate the event.

Parking will be available throughout town, with local community groups offering $10 parking options to help support area organizations.

A centerpiece of the weekend will be the Buckeye Train, which is scheduled to arrive at the depot shortly after noon on both days. State officials say Governor Mike DeWine is expected to be aboard Sunday’s run.

In addition to the train experience, the event will feature a car show, vintage aircraft flyovers, food vendors, and family‑friendly activities.

The celebration is part of Ohio’s broader America 250 commemorations marking the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary.
