Detectives investigate fair worker found dead inside RV

| September 25, 2023

DOVER (WJER) (Sept. 25, 2023)  – The Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a worker at the Tuscarawas County fairgrounds at the end of fair week, though it’s not believed to be suspicious.

Detective Captain Adam Fisher says the sheriff’s office was notified about a possible DOA Saturday around 6:30 p.m. He says they arrived and found a 53-year-old man deceased in his RV that was parked in the infield of the fairgrounds.

The man was from the town of Nashport, near Zanesville. The Fair Board had hired him to work the sound system during fair week.

Fisher says family members who went there to surprise the man reported the discovery. He says the family advised the man had no medical history, and there’s no foul play suspected at this time.

Fisher says the man’s body was being sent to The Cuyahoga County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
