Dover Light and Power earns reliability award
DOVER – The city’s electric utility recently earned national recognition for keeping the lights on.
The American Public Power Association awarded Dover Light and Power its Certificate of Excellence in Reliability for 2025. The award recognizes public utilities that respond quickly to power outages.
“This honor highlights the hard work and dedication of our Dover Light and Power Employees and emphasizes our mission to provide safe, reliable and affordable power to our community,” said Mayor Shane Gunnoe.
The Certificate of Excellence in Reliability recognizes utilities with the shortest average service interruption times. Recipients, including Dover, rank in the top 25 percent nationwide.
