The RTY Summer Showcase series at Tuscora Park started Memorial Day weekend. It continues every Sunday at 7 p.m., except July 3, until September. There are also two Friday concerts, a Saturday concert, and a Monday concert.
Dover’s Summer in the Park concert series consists of six shows at the Deis Hill Park Amphitheater on every other Thursday starting June 2. It’s sponsored by the Dover Lions Club.

The Dover High School Jazz Band and Steel Drum Band, directed by Chris Redd, perform in the next concert in both series – Thursday in Dover and Sunday in New Philadelphia.
“All in all, you’re going to get a little over a 90-minute concert with a wide variety of music,” Redd said. “It’s very entertaining, and it’s high school kids that have been able to work up that amount of music and are excited to perform it.”
Redd says concertgoers will recognize some songs even though they will sound different.
“With the steel band, you’re going to hear a variety of different genres of music, but you’re going to hear all of them with a Caribbean flavor,” he said. “It might be a rock tune. It might be a pop tune. You might here something directly from Trinidad, but all of those are going to have … that Caribbean feel. So even if it’s Led Zeppelin, it’s going to be Led Zeppelin with a Caribbean twist.”
The Dover High Steel Drum and Jazz bands perform Thursday, June 2, at 7 p.m. at the Dover City Park Amphitheater and Sunday, June 5, at 7 p.m. at Tuscora Park.
