Dover Public Library hosting Andy Griffith Show program and book author tonight

| March 31, 2022

DOVER (WJER) (Mar. 31, 2022) – The Dover Public Library has an author visit tonight geared toward lovers of classic television.

Director Jim Gill says they are hosting David Millard to discuss his book ‘Make Mayberry Real Again.’

We are going to talk about Mayberry, so that place we all know and love from the Andy Griffith Show, of course,” said Gill.

Gill says there’s actually an Andy Griffith Show rerun watchers club in Tuscarawas County.

Mayberry has resonated over the decades. People are still big fans of the story, of the characters. Maybe it’s just a fond memory of what America was in their hearts as a child, but those shows are still on TV,” he said.

Gill says this program, called ‘Mayberry: A Place in Our Hearts,’ begins at 6:30 p.m.

He says registration to attend is encouraged, but not necessary, by calling 330-343-6123.

A book signing will follow the program and there will be copies available to purchase there tonight.
