Dover School Board to appoint new member this week

DOVER (WJER) (June 28, 2023) – The Board of Education has announced two special meetings this week to appoint and swear in a new member.

The Dover Board of Education will meet Wednesday at 6 p.m. in executive session before appointing a new member. They will meet again Friday at 7 a.m. to swear in the new member so he or she can vote on measures to wrap up the concluding fiscal year and the appropriations and personnel contracts for the upcoming year.

Bob Everett on June 12^th announced he is resigning at the end of the month. He said he accepted a job at Buckeye Career Center as director of safety and security, and to stay on the Dover School Board would be a conflict of interest.

The board accepted applications for his replacement through June 20 so they could get someone in the seat before the fiscal year begins in July.
