| May 14, 2024

NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (May 14, 2024) – Today is the first day of early voting for the special 6th Congressional District general election to decide who serves the remainder of former Congressman Bill Johnson’s term through the end of the year.

Tuscarawas County Board of Elections Director Gail Garbrandt says the weekday hours to vote today and the next three weeks at the board office are 8am-5pm.

Weekday hours expand to 7:30am-7:30pm the week before the June 11th election, along with additional hours that final Saturday and Sunday.

Republican Michael Rulli is going up against Democrat Michael Kripchak in the race.

Johnson resigned earlier this year to become president at Youngstown State University.
