The event
The Dover Public Library will feature the unique wood carvings of Thomas Gardner through the month of march in our lobby display case. Gardner’s carvings are done in a style known as “Intarsia” in which various shapes, sizes, and species of colored wood are fitted together to create a mosaic like picture with the illusion of depth. Gardner’s work will take visitors on a journey to Shogun era Japan, to the bottom of the ocean, and beyond. “These are some truly amazing works,” said Todd Trimble display case curator for Dover Public Library, “I am glad that Mr. Gardner is sharing them with the public.”
