Cemetery tour – Dover

/ September 21, 2024

The event

The Dover Public Library’s Local History Room and the Reeves Museum are teaming up to present a cemetery tour in Dover’s Fourth Street Cemetery.  This is the oldest cemetery in Dover and is the final resting place of the town founder Christian Deardorff, and many interesting characters in Dover’s history.  The site was set aside as a cemetery in 1810 and the last burial there was in 1976.  Local History Librarian Kim Jurkovic will lead the tour and you never know who else may be spiriting through the grounds during the event.

The event requires registration and space is limited.  Participants will meet at the cemetery entrance on Fourth Street.  The tour will begin at 11 am on Saturday, September 21, 2024 and registration is available on the Dover Public Library website.
