Historic Zoar Village will host a special set of free Christmas tours, including the Zoar Hotel, on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On that day, any donation amount received will go towards the TV Trojan Foundation’s TVStrong Fund in remembrance of those who lost their lives in the tragic bus accident on Nov. 14.
“We offer our deepest condolences to the families, Tusky Valley students and all who were affected by this tragedy. It is important to come together at times like this to support our community and help when we can,” said Tammi Shrum, site director. “This fundraiser will strengthen the foundation’s ability to help students pursue higher education and alleviate financial burden for families in our community.”
The TVStrong Fund is a fund at First Federal Community Bank that’s dedicated specifically to helping the families and others who were affected by the accident. All donations to this fund will support memorial expenses, scholarships, medical costs, long-term care support, mental health treatment and equipment loss.
The TV Trojan Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance educational opportunities for Tusky Valley students, such as promoting post-secondary opportunities through scholarships for college, vocational and technical schools.
In addition to 100% of the tour donations raised, the Zoar Community Association will donate 20% of all proceeds from the Zoar Store earned that day towards the TV Strong Fund.
