The event
The Dover Public Library’s literary magazine, Tapestries of Tuscarawas County, has launched its search for submissions for its seventh volume. The literary magazine encompasses life in Tuscarawas County and hopes to preserve the culture of the county as a part of the library’s historical initiative. The magazine is open to submissions of stories, poetry, art and photography from anyone with connections to Tuscarawas County. Citizens are asked to send in their memories of life in Tuscarawas County or their art and photography that have a connection to our community. The library will offer a cash prize in each of the following categories: photography/art, poetry, and written story.
As a part of the Dover Public Library’s oral and living history project, Tapestries intends to weave together the stories of Tuscarawas County together into one tapestry which conveys the beauty of the county.
A release ceremony will be held at the library to celebrate the magazine, and contributors will be given a free copy of the book, as well as an opportunity to read excerpts from their work. Copies will be available to the public at the Dover Public Library and other local libraries and historical societies.
The deadline to submit a piece for the new edition of Tapestries of Tuscarawas County is November 30, 2024. To get the registration form and submission guidelines stop in at the library, go to www.doverlibrary.org under “About,” email local history librarian Kim Jurkovic at kjurkovic@doverlibrary.org, or call the library at 330-343-6123
