Dover Public Library to celebrate the history of Dover during the month of May

The Dover Public library invites the public to take a trip into the past as they celebrate the history of Dover in their display cases during the month of May. Featuring the collection of local resident Steve Wherley, the items displayed showcase the community’s unique history and range from patent medicine bottles, items from the Dover Steel works, photographs of local residents from the city’s early years, and promotional materials from local businesses. The display coincides with the city’s annual Canal Dover Festival which occurs every year during Memorial Day weekend and is a perfect compliment to the annual festivities.
