Healthier Lifestyle Program at Dover Library
Coming Soon
The event
Dover Public Library partners with Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital to provide three programs designed to help us lead a healthier lifestyle. Each program will be held in the library community room from 2:00-3:00 PM.
“We always welcome the opportunity to collaborate with the expert staff from our local hospital,” says Sherrel Rieger, adult program specialist, “to share important information which could save your own life or the life of someone you love.”
The first program in the series “Learn the Warning Signs of a Heart Attack” will be held on Monday, September 8. Statistics show that someone in the United States has a heart attack about every 40 seconds. Some people having a heart attack wait before getting help, or even feel it would be embarrassing to have a “false alarm”. Others are so afraid of having a heart attack that they tell themselves they are not having one. During this course, participants will learn some of the causes and warning signs of heart attack, what to do if you think someone is having a heart attack and the differences between a heart attack and cardiac arrest.
The second program “Spot a Stroke and BE FAST” will be held on Monday, October 6 and the third and final program ”Control Your Cholesterol: Learn How Cholesterol Affects Your Heart Health” will be held on Monday, November 10.
To register for any or all of these educational afternoon programs, call the hospital at 330.602.0779.
