History of vacuum cleaners program at Dover Library
The event
John Cadle, history buff and owner of John’s Sweeper Shop in Dover, will present a program titled Local History of the Vacuum Cleaner at the Dover Public Library on Monday, September 18th. Cadle will explain local contributions to the development of the vacuum cleaner. He will talk about the first electric suction sweeper made by the Hoover Company in 1908 in New Berlin (now North Canton). Then he will make clear its connection to the Wise Vacuum made in New Philadelphia. Several historical vacuum cleaners will be on display. The program will be held at 6:30pm.
