Library to Celebrate “National Stamp Collecting Month”
The event
The Dover Public Library invites the public to view the collections of local stamp collectors from the Tuscora Stamp Club in honor of “National Stamp Collecting Month.” The displays, located in the community room art gallery and our display cases feature a wide variety of stamps and postal memorabilia ranging from international stamps, to stamps featuring elements from popular culture such as the “Universal Monsters” and “Dungeons and Dragons” as well as a vintage leather mail bag used by postal carriers. In addition to the displays, the library will be holding a program on Saturday, October 26th at 2pm entitled “History of the Post Office in Tuscarawas County” led by Scott Pendleton, who is a member of the Tuscora Stamp Club. The public is reminded that if they or someone they know has a collection they wish to share with the public to contact the library. The Dover Public Library is located at 525 N Walnut St, directly across from Dover High School. For more information call the Dover Public Library at 330-343-6123.
