May the Course Be With You 5K at the Main Library

The Tuscarawas County Public Library System will host its 8th annual 5K on Saturday, May 4^th at 10am with a May the Course Be With You 5K that will begin and end at its Main Library located at 121 Fair Ave NW in New Philadelphia.

Proceeds from the 5K will benefit the library system’s summer reading program. Registration for adult is $30 and those under 18 is $20. Participants will receive a t-shirt while supplies last. Runners can pre-register by stopping into one of the County Library’s five locations (Main Library, Bolivar, Strasburg, Sugarcreek, or Tuscarawas) to complete a registration form. Runners may also register the day of the race beginning at 9am on the library’s front lawn.

“We encourage runners to have fun and dress to fit the Star Wars theme,” said Public Relations Associate Marisa Bleininger. “Our 5K has always been a fun race for all ages and abilities so we are looking forward to this year’s theme and the extra activities to go along with it.”

In addition to the 5K, the library will host a May the 4^th Celebration for all ages from 10:00AM – 1:00PM. Attendees can cheer on the 5K runners before heading inside to enjoy Star Wars themed crafts and activities, including a participating in a Jedi Training challenge, playing corn hole, enjoying snacks, and making themed items in the MakerSpace. The event will conclude with a costume contest at noon with prizes!
