OPERATION FLAGS OF FREEDOM at Tuscarawas County Senior Center
The event
Steve Toohey, founder of Operation Flags of Freedom, will be the guest speaker for the Dover Public Library’s Lunch & Learn on Wednesday, October 30 at 12:15 at the Tuscarawas County Senior Center. Please register for this program at the Senior Center.
Steve created Operation Flags of Freedom in 2011 after the tragic death of United States Marine Sgt. Danny Patron in Afghanistan while detonating a roadside bomb. On the day of his funeral, Operation Flags of Freedom lined the route from the church to the cemetery with 500 American flags to honor Danny. Since that time, Steve has dedicated himself to providing thousands of American flags at over 100 annual events in support of veteran and first responder events. He has provided flags for organizations such as Folds of Honor, Wreaths across America, and Tunnels to Towers. Steve and his wife Libby reside in Perry Township, Massillon. They have a daughter Erin and 3 granddaughters, Lucy, Clara, and Charlotte.
This program is part of the Lunch and Learn series sponsored by the Dover Public Library on the first Wednesday of every month.
