Programs for new and expecting parents
The event
The New Philadelphia Health Department will host an educational program series for new and expecting parents this fall at the Tuscarawas County Public Library System’s Main Library at 121 Fair Ave NW, New Philadelphia.
“There is a lot to know when you are a new or expecting parent,” said Children’s Services Manager Mary Smrek. “We are happy to partner with our city health department for this free program series that will share valuable information.”
The group will meet on select Tuesdays at 10:30 AM. Topics include:
- October 4th: Car Seat Safety
- October 18th: Immunizations and Health Department Resources
- November 1st: Safe Sleep Practices and High Lead Levels in Children
According to Smrek, those who attend will leave these programs with insight on community resources, as well as knowledge on how to keep their children safe.
Registration is required for these events. To reserve a seat, call 330-364-4474. For more information on upcoming programs at the library’s five locations, visit www.tusclibrary.org.
