NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (June 13, 2022) – Historic Schoenbrunn Village has a new leader.

Zoar resident Kris Eddy has been managing the site for around a month now. She spent the past three years working for the Zoar Community Association where her duties included organizing tours, recruiting volunteers, and developing programming for Historic Zoar and Fourt Laurens..

“I know the basics, and I’m looking forward to getting into all the details of Schoenbrunn and really learning about it,” she says. “There’s is a great group of people there who have so much information because they have been there for many, many years, and they are just so enthralled and ingrained in that culture and that history there at Schoenbrunn.”

Eddy says she’s excited to continue learning from the village’s dedicated staff and volunteers and to lead the festivities taking place to commemorate its 250th birthday this year.

“And there is a multitude of different events going on. We have a speaker series. We have our Lantern Tours, Colonial Trade Faire, and then of course the building of the Schebosh cabin. It’s just going to be a busy year. It’s gonna be a fun year and a great way to celebrate all the hard work that the Delaware and the Morvavians put into the village initially.”

Schoenbrunn is owned by the Ohio History Connection and operated by the Dennison Depot Museum System. It had been without a site manager since the previous one stepped down more than two years ago.
