High School Golf District All-Stars and Academic All-Ohio
The Eastern District Golf Coaches Association has announced its East District All-Stars and Academic All-Ohio recipients.
On the girls side in Division II, state runner-up Garaway sweeps the top honors, with Coach of the Year Angie Miller and Player of the Year Sammi Miller, who was the area leader with an average 9-hole score of 37.97. 2022 Honors 2 Girls
In Division I for the girls, John Glenn has Coach of the Year Rich Bubenchik and Player of the Year Addy Burris. 2022 Honors 1 Girls
In boys Division I, the East District All Stars are led by Player of the Year Nathan Menapace of New Philadelphia. Coach of the Year is split between Jim O’Donnell of Dover and Chad Orecchio of John Glenn. 2022 Honors 1 Boys
In Division II, Carrollton swept the top awards, with Jaxon Rinkes as Player of the Year and Chris Barto as Coach of the Year. Sandy Valley’s Connor Ritter made the first team, posting a district-leading average of 34.2. 2022 Honors 2 Boys
In Division III for the boys, Garaway’s Trace Gibson is Co-Player of the Year with a 36 average. Chatum Courson of Fort Frye is the other Co-Player of the Year. Coach of the Year is Fort Frye’s Tony O’Linn. 2022 Honors 3 Boys
