NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (April 7, 2025) – Tuscarawas County’s Democratic Party chair is looking to build momentum off the participation in Saturday’s nationwide “Hands Off” rallies against Republican policies and cuts at the state and federal levels.

Mike DiDonato says it’s estimated that about 500 people in all – at one time or another – joined the rally outside the county courthouse between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Saturday with colorful signs and chants.

DiDonato wants to capitalize off the sentiment. He believes it’s a wake-up call and is hoping it can sway more voters to the Democratic side to win elections.
