More upgrades announced for Tuscora Park rides
NEW PHILADELPHIA – (WJER) (May 31, 2023) New Philadelphia Rotary Club members have the community now awaiting further improvements at Tuscora Park.
At the Ferris wheel re-opening ceremony where they showed off the new orange gondolas that are handicap accessible, Rotarian and Rainbow Connection board member Brian Flood announced more rides will soon become ADA compliant, including the swing ride later this year.
Flood says the Rainbow Connection is also paying $75,000 for a Texas company to fabricate a new handicap-accessible train for the park. He says they hope to unveil it at this time next year.
Also at the Ferris wheel ceremony, past RTY Chair Rich Geib announced that the roller coaster won’t be in operation until later this summer so it can undergo repairs to pass state inspection.
RTY Board Chair Greg Rees says they also removed and widened all the gates to the rides at the park last winter for improved handicap accessibility in the future.
