Museum hosting new Halloween-time event

DENNISON (WJER) (Oct. 18, 2024) – The Dennison Depot is inviting spirit seekers to come learn about the ones that inhabit the museum.
Executive Director Wendy Zucal and other staff members will share their experiences on Thursday evening during a new Halloween-time event: ‘Who You Gonna Call: Ghostbusting at the Dennison Depot.’ Marketing Coordinator Taylur Cunningham says participants will also get an after-hours tour of the building, which was once a World War 2 servicemen’s canteen.
“The one car that I would say is most, I would say, active is our WWII hospital and surgery car. It’s a very rare car to have, and that’s where a lot of the activity happens. Not only that, but we also have all of our historical artifacts, too. A lot of people say that the artifacts can kind of hold onto that ghostly energy, and we’ve definitely experienced some things like that, as well.”
Tickets are $20 each, pre-sale only, and can be purchased at eventbite.com. Cunningham says it’s geared toward adults and older kids, so leave the little ones at home.
“There are some different topics we’ll be talking about and some stories that maybe would be unsettling to kids and we don’t want them to be exposed to any of that.. So we suggest 12 and over for this event, and it does say that on the tickets as well.”
Elsewhere, ghost tours are taking place this weekend at the Reeves Museum and Historic Zoar Village but only for those who managed to get tickets before they ran out.
