New Philadelphia bracing for last-minute income tax filers today
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (April 15, 2025) – New Philadelphia Mayor Joel Day is reminding everyone that today is April 15th – Tax Day 2025.
“Throughout the nation and here in the city of New Philadelphia, it’s the annual income tax filing deadline” said Day.
Day told the audience at the City Council meeting Monday to remember that New Philadelphia has a mandatory income tax filing requirement, meaning those who live or work in the city must file every year.
He says there could be wait for those showing up at the income tax department in the lower level of city hall today.
“Expect a long line of filers at the office window,” said Day.
Day says the 1.5 % income tax pays for city services including fire and police protection.
There is a late filing fee of $25 for anyone who misses today’s deadline in New Philadelphia.
