New Philadelphia commends general services superintendent for “outstanding leadership”
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (April 12, 2023) – City officials are giving special recognition to General Services Superintendent Ray Grewell in print.
Mayor Joel Day presented Grewell with a certificate of commendation at this week’s council meeting for recently repairing the flashing traffic lights on North Broadway at Tuscora Park.
“Ray took it upon himself to take them down, rewire them, and clean them up to get them working like new,” read Day.
“Ray consistently goes above and beyond what is asked of him, leading his employees by example,” Day added.
Others in attendance joined in on the praise.
“I’ve had a lot of people tell me that you’ve done a great job when they come to your house or when they’ve stopped you, so I want to thank you again,” Council member Kelly Ricklic told Grewell.
Council member Dean Holland called Grewell “a thinker.”
“He’s using his mind all the time to come up with ideas for improving the service to the community,” said Holland.
Grewell was joined by family members as he was presented with the certificate Monday night.
