ODOT: SR 516 closing Monday; SR 39 closing in July

DOVER – The Ohio Department of Transportation has several road construction projects on the schedule for next week.

State Route 516 just west of Dover will be closed starting Monday, June 10, for a culvert replacement project. That is expected to take five days.

Next month, ODOT plans to close state Route 39 two miles west of Dover for 45 days starting July 8. That safety improvement project is at the Kimble Company landfill operation. It calls for replacing a section of the road.

Here is ODOT’s list of continuing and future projects:

State Route 516 closure for culvert replacement: Starting June 10, State Route 516 will close two miles west of State Route 39 for a culvert replacement project. The duration is five days. The detour is State Route 39 west to State Route 93 north, State Route 93 north back to State Route 516, and reverse.

I-77 resurfacing project south of Newcomerstown: A project to resurface a seven-mile stretch I-77 from the Guernsey County line to just south of Newcomerstown. Throughout the project, one traffic lane will be maintained in both directions. The completion date is September 30, 2024.

I-77 culvert replacement: Construction is underway to replace a culvert under I-77 located just north of Newcomerstown (Exit 65). To move equipment, lane closures are possible throughout the project. All southbound lanes will remain open. The completion date is May 31, 2024.

Trenton Avenue Resurfacing in Uhrichsville: Trenton Avenue in the city of Uhrichsville is closed for resurfacing and installing a new storm sewer. The closure is from Herrick Street to South Jay Street. Residents within the closure area will have access maintained throughout the project. Access to and from Claymont Elementary will be maintained. Click here for a map to enter/exit Claymont Elementary during Phase 1 of construction.  The completion date is July 31, 2024.

State Route 39 closure for safety improvement project: Construction is slated to begin July 8 on a safety improvement project along a section of State Route 39, two miles west of Dover, at the Kimble Company landfill operation. Construction will require a 45-day closure of the roadway. The project will improve the vertical alignment of State Route 39 and include replacing a section of the road with a new storm sewer, curb, and roadway grading.
